Visitors are treated to a climate-controlled community tour of the present and future of Painted Prairie, shopping at the artisan market, music, food trucks, model home tours, and free 1:1 consultations with interior design, finance and insurance experts.
Location is Everything
Painted Prairie is a dynamic community located in Aurora, Colorado – halfway between Denver’s International Airport and Anschutz Medical Campus, directly across from the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center. The community’s ideal location provides nearby access to the A-Line Rail, E-470, 56th Avenue, and I-70 for a 24-minute drive or ride to downtown Denver’s urban core. Its central location also makes it easy to escape to the mountains for a day of skiing, hiking, or relaxing.
Building a Legacy
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named Painted Prairie the 2022 National Community of the Year. This beautiful new community is a fresh alternative for aspiring residents wanting to live in a place where the revival of traditional styles and ways of life converge with the best current technology, elements, and influences. Its open spaces, mountain views, and unexpected living combine to create a diverse and exciting community where urban meets prairie, and all are welcome home.
Neo-traditional communities feature a diverse mix of single-family and multi-family homes and typically garner a higher resale value and greater appreciation than standard master-planned community design. Painted Prairie offers diverse product types, architectural styles, prices, and social diversity to create a highly desirable environment attracting multigenerational residents.
The Great Outdoors in Your Own Backyard
Painted Prairie’s award-winning landscaping design has created a park system unparalleled along Colorado’s Front Range. The abundant parks offer residents wide open spaces, community gardens, orchards, and other unique points of interest to create a sense of historical and cultural significance of the prairie in Colorado’s heritage.
It was important to Painted Prairie’s developers to install the parks prior to building homes, allowing the landscape to take root early for residents to enjoy as soon as they moved into the neighborhood. Pocket parks dot the community offering natural play and gathering spaces steps away from your front door. All parks and trails lead to the stunning 22-acre High Prairie Park where residents are greeted by sweeping mountain vistas, Denver’s signature skyline, and the prairie dunes.
Many more parks and green spaces are planned at Painted Prairie, including Prairie Retreat Park. This 35-acre park will be located on the final headgate of the historic 71-mile Highline Canal that connects to the broader regional trail system throughout the Denver Metro area.
Urban Excursions Within Walking Distance
At the heart of Painted Prairie will be the 55-acre Town Center featuring an urban park surrounded by curated restaurants, destination dining, boutique hotels, and the next great hot spots to gather with family, friends, and neighbors.
Building a Legacy
Featuring an impressive array of top local and national homebuilders such as, David Weekley Homes, Epic Homes, KB Home, McStain Neighborhoods, Meritage Homes, Parkwood Homes, Berkeley Homes, and Remington Homes, Painted Prairie offers an array of housing choices in the Northeast Metro Denver market.

With a wide array of architectural styles and square footage options enable first-time homebuyers and empty nesters to find what they’re looking for at Painted Prairie.
Balance of Indoor and Outdoor Getaways
Painted Prairie is a place where newcomers will find a fun and active neighborhood where diversity and inclusion – of people, of ideas, of architecture – are of the utmost importance. There is a welcoming spirit at Painted Prairie that is felt throughout its parks, its streetscapes, and at the community’s resident events. Now is the time to discover Painted Prairie and explore what it means to be part of the future of a new way to live on the urban prairie.
