Sellers get an all-cash offer and pick their closing date, allowing them to focus on the move instead of the uncertainty of whether they’ll be able to sell their home in time to move into their new one.
Zillow’s home builder partnerships allow new construction buyers to close in as little as seven days—or as long as eight months.
Timing problems kill deals
The flexibility and extended timelines create breathing room around a significant pain point for buyers: 63% of home buyers are selling simultaneously. Over a third (36%) of households who bought a new construction home in the past two years struggled to time the sale of the home they were living in with their new home’s completion. And 35% of those buyers say their newly built home took too long to build or exceeded the estimated completion date, according to the Zillow New Construction Consumer Housing Trends Report 2020.
